Downtown Vancouver - Downtown Vancouver has
several areas of interest, the West End is adjacent to Stanley Park and
includes the popular Robson Street shopping area as well as English Bay Beach.
Yaletown is a rapidly growing area of refurbished warehouses (housing) with new
upscale shops and dining, it is located east of Richards Street and bordered by
False Creek to the south. The
Vancouver Art
Gallery is located on Georgia Street between Howe and Hornby. The
CN Imax Theatre is
located on the tip of the Canada Place convention centre.
Stanley
Park is located on the west end of the main downtown core, the
Vancouver Aquarium is

South of the downtown core are the main residential
neighbourhoods of Vancouver. Directly across the Burrard Street Bridge is
Kitsilano which has many popular attractions including : the
Vancouver Maritime
Museum, the Vancouver
Museum, the MacMillan Bloedel Planetarium and Pacific Space Centre, the
Vancouver Archives, Vanier Park, Kitsilano Beach and Pool,
all located in the Kitsilano Point area. The
Bard on the Beach is an
annual summer-long event which is situated in Vanier Park, the large tents are
an indication of its location. West of the Kits Beach area are Jericho
Beach, Locarno Beach and Spanish Banks. The
University of British Columbia
(UBC) Endowment Lands occupy a large area of on the west end of the peninsula.

Memorial Gardens, the
Asian Centre,
Astronomy Centre, Belkin Art
Gallery, UBC
Botanical Garden,
Chan
Centre for the Performing Arts,
Theatre at UBC, and the
Zoology Museums are all popular attractions on the UBC
lands. Also in the area Wreck Beach,
Vancouver's only clothing optional beach, and Pacific Spirit Park. Van Dusen
Botanical Gardens is located in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood at 37th And Oak. Queen
Elizabeth Park, the highest point in Vancouver, is located in the
Riley Park/Little
Mountain neighbourhood at 33rd and Cambie, the Bloedel Conservatory
is also located in the park.
